Kids Gone Hunting Foundation, Inc. strives to instill conservation stewardship in the hearts of children by teaching them an appreciation for the virtues of hunting as a means to perpetuate wildlife and natural resources and create an understanding of the gifts provided by God’s great outdoors through kids reaching out to kids.
- The Foundation’s Goals:
- To create an annual Kids Gone Hunting DVD to be distributed free to kids.
- To develop platforms for kids to communicate and provide outreach and information about hunting to other kids.
- To create grant programs to fund hunting and conservation programs aimed at kids.
- To provide scholarships for students studying in conservation related fields.
- To donate funds to worthy causes that benefit kids, with emphasis on missions that perpetuate a strong relationship with God.
Every once in a while
a kid teaches you something that should have been obvious all along. Alli Armstrong and her family created a DVD called “Armstrongs Outdoors.” The DVD follows the hunting adventures of young Alli and her family. Alli gave a copy of her DVD to Sydney Simmering, who at the time was 10-years old and had not yet hunted. Sydney watched the DVD several times after school. Allis’ DVD made a positive impact on Sydney and facilitated her decision to become a hunter. And an idea was born! This example provided the idea for the first Kids Gone Hunting DVD. Providing a method for kids to reach out to kids and lead by example in an effective way to communicate the positive virtues of hunting. We put together a team of great kids, whose values, enthusiasm, positive ethics and love of hunting shines through in every project, from DVDs to web development to online programming. They are committed to the idea and so are we.
